Wonderful Winter Scenes

The cutest little owls. We practiced some advanced painting techniques like color blending, and texture making in second grade. We also discussed and worked on using the same brush for detail that we use for large scale markings by using just the tip and light pressure. After I saw the finished pieces I realized I should have used this for valentines day coming up.

First grade worked on this for two weeks. They drew the trees, outlined and used bleeding tissue paper to make them colorful. We then cut them out and pasted them on a new paper to create a starry night background.

Kindergarten worked on these for two weeks. They created the trees using q-tips and tapping different colors of green to see how they blended and looked next to each other. This week we cut them out, glued them and created a winter background for them.

Fifth grade is working on creating name tags for the top of their art display at the end of the year 5th grade art show. They learned different calligraphy techniques and then were encouraged to go rogue and make a bold name tag that reflected their interests and personality.

Kindergarten is in the spotlight at the Trumbull Library. I put as many as I could, please stop by to take a look at your famous artists work when you get a chance.
