Hi all! Many of our students made spooky portraits of themselves in the style of Tim Burton's art. The characteristics of his drawings are that they have huge bright white haunting eyes, tiny lips, and slender necks. Many of our students really were excited to create in the style of another artist and the results are so cool. I love how you can still tell who many of them are despite the influence of another artist. Next week we are making Victorian style frames to put these portraits in.
First Grade & Kindergarten made these cute little ghosts. We learned about creating a BOLD line with our crayons which allowed our ghosts to POP off our page against the colorful backgrounds. We also learned about contrast.
Some second graders made patchwork witch hats to add to our spooky decorations.
One of our first grade classes made these scaredy cats. They came out so cute. I love the simplicity and textures created from the crayons.
