All grade levels worked on their Art Portfolio covers. I love the variety in the images they created to represent who they are. They had to include four or five of their favorite things and create a hierarchy where their names were very obviously the most important things on the page.
I see Kindergarten twice a week so on their second go around we practiced making shapes, and repeating them. We then ventured into how they can combine shapes to make images. They were thrilled and surprised to discover you could combine a circle, triangle and squares to make an ice cream cone. So cute to see their faces light up at the discovery.
