Kinder worked so hard on these amazing crayons! We read a bunch of books including The Day The Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt, and we practiced going very carefully step by step. This took two classes to create and we took lots of wiggle breaks to make sure they could concentrate and do their best work. We used crayons, sharpies, watercolor paint, and oil pastels.
Many grades worked on adding very detailed colored pencil coloring to their mini gratitude artworks. They were encouraged to create backgrounds within each frame as well. Next week we are working on the frames for these beauties.
5th grade started working on the final versions of their gratitude artwork. They had their sketches handy, they choose the paper, the orientation, AND the art supplies they used to best demonstrate their idea. I can't wait for these to come to life next week as well.
Some 2nd and 3rd grade classes created gratitude jars and painted them with vibrant watercolors.
My kindergartener, Alex, loves the Drew Daywalt crayon books. Beautiful work!
